this is quite possibly, the sexiest song, with the sexiest video, which features one of the sexiest dresses... ever. kylie in balenciaga makes chris very happy. the dress is killer, with its peek-a-boo under-pinnings, the meticulous pleating, the perfect mix of white, navy and sheer, the length, the fit, the attitude. all this visual only heightens the sex-appeal of the slick and minimal seductive anthem.

a little bit out of order, but here is roberto cavalli's fall 2010 collection shown in milan on the 17th. his collection this season was a great mix bold colour and print and great cuts, jackets, slightly shrunken, but boxy, leather pants, skinny and printed in bright checks. great footwear, leather hi-top brogues. the collection was styled in a kind-of 'just thrown on and walked out the door' vibe, which looks real, approachable and easy to replicate. should be a real success at retail level.

ricardo tisci showed his fall 2010 menswears collection for givenchy in paris on the 22nd. although not as multi-faceted as his spring collection, he still put on a stellar show. with the jewellery evocative of jesus' crown of thorns, the collection had a clerical air, in the strictness and rigour of the suiting. he continued showing men in leggings, this season, they came in slick spandex, and with feet. he also showed skirt/shorts in suiting and in velvet. the only embellishment came in a pair of trousers covered in 'eagle-shape' studs. he showed great outerwear, big wool coats, with over-sized collars and hood, to keep us warm and cosy in the height of winter. all the looks were paired with sandal, with seemed a tad odd, seeing that this is a winter collection, but who are we to agrue with mr, tisci. i have never seen myself wanting to wear fur, but the knubby fur jacket with the leather sleeves has a very contemporary, sleek look that i am really attracted to. another great collection.

sorry for the delay in posts... but here we are, dries van noten fall 2010 menswear collection shown in paris on the 21st. i love his play on proportion and pattern, the way he clashes prints is brilliant, in such a way that it never looks cartoony or off-kilter. i like that he is reliable, he tweaks his cut from season to season, but never radically, he isn't about trend, he is making clothes that men will want to and will, wear. looking forward to seeing this collection at retail...
