in the matter of 2 weeks, both lady gaga + daphne guinness have been spotted in some crazy-as shoes, both heeless super platforms, reminiscent of victoria beckhams 'antonio beradi' boots from 2008. *i like the way daphne collapses back to flat-foot while she is standing. both girls have a penchant for the extreme shoe... both have worn mcqueens infamous 'armadillos' + daphne was spotted on 2 seperate occasions wearing nina ricci's fall 2009 'pony' boots... these girls are taking gravity defying shoes to new heights [he... he... get it]
since this post is dedicated to the extreme shoe, take a look at these, they're pretty self-explanatory...
today, i re-watched 'valentino: the last emperor,' i had forgotten how brilliant it was. it is such a pleasure to be able to see someone of such greatness at work, to see the process of making such beauty. but on top of that, both valentino and his partner giancarlo giametti, themselves have such an impeccable style, it's that italian thing, they just have it, that old school way of dressing that is really, sadly, disappearing... everything nowadays is about comfort and ease, and with that, all too often, comes sloppiness and a lack of refinement, a real lack of care of how one presents themselves to the world. what is acceptable now was everyday dress, is rather appalling, i long for a time when dressing the way they dress was common place. i feel the need to have a huge wardrobe cleansing, sell off everything that is now irrelevant to me, and invest a good amount in a navy double-breasted suit...
i had the laziest day today, i spent it's entirety on the couch watching disney channel... i'm such a tween girl :) i watched the new *dcom 'star-struck.' it had a very generic plot-line, boy meets girl, girl hates boy, boy and girl spend a few days together, girls opinion changes about him, boy does something wrong, girl cracks it, boy does something romantic, then everything is fine... there was some singing, some site seeing around l.a., a car called 'petunia' sank into quicksand. for what it was, it was a very entertaining movie...
then once star-struck had finished 'sonny with a chance' came on, and it was the funniest episode ever... i had tears streaming down my face from laughing so hard. i have posted the full episode from youtube below, unfortunately it was cut up into 3 parts, but enjoy none-the-less...
such an appropriate episode since my conversion to straight-leg 501's...
this sketch combines 3 great loves of mine, the real house-wives franchise [currently watching the trashiest of them all, real house-wives of atlanta on arena... i love kim] big ball-gowns and disney stars...
