naughty...
i went to melbourne last thursday to see my friend ellen's art exhibition @ 7th gallery in fitzroy. i was a little naughty, i lay-byed, from marais, lanvin's spring 2010 perspex logo necklace. it was featured in every look sent down the runway, can't wait to pick it up... plus, much to my excitment, 'metropolis books' on swanston street had 'fashematical-zine' created by blog 'fashematic.com/' check it out, it's brilliant, witty + thought provoking...
then, today, i went with family to chadstone, to my surprise sjp's may issue of vogue was @ borders + the fall 2010 men's edition of wwd. looking forward to curling up on the couch with a cat on my lap and immercing myself within their pages. also much to my delight, jb hi-fi was having 20% off all cd's + dvd's, so i was able to get gemma ward's film debut, 'black balloon' for $10... BARGAIN, should make for some good viewing.
i was on the constant look out for a navy blazer. i would love this one, by jil sander x uniqlo, but unfortunately uniqlo doesn't, to my knowledge, ship to australia. i found one @ country road, but i wasn't keen on the fabrication, it was made from moleskin, which is good for autumn/winter, but it is really too heavy for spring/summer, so the search will continue...
i'm also really feeling a pair of levis 501's, i'm getting a little tired of skinny jeans, i'm really in the mood for a new silhouette, something a little more grown-up.
i will have to avoid melbourne for a couple of weeks, need to save some extra paper to pay off my little piece of lanvin...

escape...
yesterday i went to melbourne, to check out 'the secret of the jacket' exhibition @ the chanel boutique on collins street. it was brilliant, taking you from vintage chanel, by coco herself, right through to modern day chanel under the deft hand of karl lagerfeld. it featured many drawing, fabric samples, editorial shots and vintage pieces from chanel's vast and exciting archive. i was also a tad frivolous... i bought the latest issue of 'i-d,' unfortunately i was unable to get the limited edition issue with sasha on the cover, sad...
...i also picked up this witty little pocket book of sartorial tid-bits by esquire magazine. a thorough and humourous essay for keeping the modern man stylish and in vogue...
plus, the forth book in a series on developing ones skills as a fashion designer/stylist... a great reference, as are the preceding 3 books
i also visited 'miss louise' and much to my delight, they had just recieved new stock of alexander mcqueen spring 2010, including this, the 'jellyfish de-manta clutch.' it is stunning, the colours in real-life are so vivid and sharp, and that amazing shape really make it a stand-out. they also a 1m x 1m cashmere scarf in the same print *heart-breaks,* but @ $995, it will forever be only a pipe-dream
