pah-lease...

as you can see, i have posted, and will continue to post some looks i have created using the brilliant website polyvore... in the hope that someone from, vogue, bazaar, grazia or russh will contact my blog and maybe offer me some work experience/internship. one can only hope...

maximal mininalist

maximal mininalist by cristov featuring wayfarer sunglasses

in the current move toward minimalism, this look, comprising of a nuetral colour palette is a more overt version of the trend. a fur skirt is paired with a camel leather tee. a brass michael kors watch and brass knuckleduster are as flashy as the look gets. a celine envelope clutch and fur lined shoes complete the look.

a little carrie...

a little carrie... by cristov featuring ray ban sunglasses

this look, comprising of a rodarte dress, cob-web cardigan and spiked heels by rodarte x christian louboutin is a extreme version on carrie bradshaws eccentric take on lady-like dressing. worn with a petticoat, this dress has a very current mad-men 60's shape then belting it with the cardigan adds to the twisted classic look. a chanel 2.55, jil sander earrings and a brass cuff complete this look

kinda freja...

kinda freja...
kinda freja... by cristov featuring single breasted jackets

this is a relatively dark look, but still has touches of glamour in a casual, louche way. balmain sequinned harem pants are paired with a black kain tank and a black ann d menswear jacket. the look is given height by alexander wang ankle boots. accessories include an alexander wang bag, jil sander earrings a neon yellow timex watch and a barbed-wire ring by burberry...

i like mixing unexpected elements, in this outfit, if one was wearing the pink dries jacket closed you would probably not notice the beautiful detail at the waist of the jil sander skirt, but open it, it is a hidden surprise. this outfit is finished with gold and white accessories, oversized dior watch, cavalli ring, dries clutch, givenchy wedges and ray-bans. it is a maximalist look, but i don't think it shouts...

lady-like with punch

lady-like with punch by cristov featuring dior jewelry

as you can tell from my previous posts i'm not opposed to clashing colours and prints. this look is dominated by pieces from ysl, the clutch, the shoe, the skirt and the ring all from the french label. pairing the leopard-print skirt with the nude/purple check blouse may seem off-putting but it is pulled together by stella mccartney's slightly oversized double breasted jackets in grey houndstooth. the red shoe adds a jolt of colour and i think red manicure is also called of this look...

neon menswear

neon menswear by cristov featuring a multicolor necklace

borrowing slightly from the boys... a brass button double-breasted balmain jacket in paired with a slightly cropped camel pant. an ethnic print dries shirt add interest and a layer of reference. a gold watch and over-sized turquoise ring by ysl add richness, completing the look is a simple neon bright necklace, a neon yellow python bag by celine and bright pink pumps by ysl

abbey lee anyone?

abbey lee anyone?
abbey lee anyone? by cristov featuring a silk skirt

in that bohemian vein that abbey lee is known for , this outfit skews more evening, though casual evening. a basic kain tank is given a punch by a black jet-sequeined maxi-skirt and a rich ink-coloured lanvin fur. men's oxford shoes ground the look while accessories add a little kick plus the stone necklace matches the purple hermes satchel, but not in an obvious way. my chic take on the bohemian eccentric

ott to the max

in the same maximalist vein of anna dello russo, this look is quite simple in its elements but when put together is a visual feast. classic elements of black, gold and leopard print are used for maximum impact. using a basic black tank and jean, the gold embroidered black fur jacket makes a real statement, layering gold accessories gives another layer of richness, the simple celine bag done in leopard adds extra punch and finished off with instant cool, black ray-bans.

unexpected classics

taking all of these classic items, the men's oxford, a camel double-breasted jackets, ray-bans, cartier and hermes and pairing them with some unexpected pieces, a horizontal striped wrap skirt from dries and valentino's punk take on a lady-like pump and you end up with a look that is both timeless with just the right amount of edge to keep it current

flithy/gorgeous

there has been a little controversy going around the blogosphere regarding jake shears wardrobe malfunction where he flashes his testes at an audience in paris... i watched the video to see what all the fuss was about and noticed something quite special... now correct me if i'm wrong, but is ana matronic wearing fall 2010 prada, a version of the dress miranda kerr wore on the runway. it looks great on her, as does jake's outfit on him :)

what a cast...

yesterday, nicolas ghesquiere showed his spring 2011 collection for balenciaga, it is amazing, an eclectic mix of 90's punk grunge and super hi-tech fabrication in shapes that stand away from the body like armour. despite the superb clothing on the catwalk, this post is dedicated to the faces on the catwalk, the most exciting of faces belongs to bambi. in her first international season, the sydney girl with her signature bushy-brows was girl 6 at balenciaga's stellar show. she came out just after a 5 month pregnant miranda kerr. other shocks included amber valletta, ann catherine-lacroix, stella tennant, carolyn murphy and who closed the show, none other than la gisele bundchen.

again, congratulations to bambi... the show to be seen in
